MISUSE 02: “Draw” (model) section cuts upon the established work plane using model and detail lines. In Revit, sections are constructed by attaching system, loadable, or in-place families to the default work plane in plan and then cutting the families using a section box. Misuse 02 works against the tool by establishing a pseudo-orthographic method.
1- Everything is Already an Image:
- Read MAY_Everything is Already an Image.
- Define representation, orthography, drawings, presentation, pseudo-orthography, post-orthography, images, automation, modeled lines, modeled elements, displaced elements, and cut elements.
2- Constructional Images:
- Develop images in order to interrogate the material conditions of the Agricultural Heritage Museum.
- “Draw” section cuts through the existing building.
- Design the threshold for a new addition.
FRIDAY 09.06_DETAILS (Due Monday 09.09)
For Monday 09.09 bring at least two (2) precedents in the form of detailed section cut images that include additions to existing buildings. The existing building in the precedent should work like the existing Agricultural Heritage Museum. The level of detail in the section should correlate to the level of detail you have already “drawn” (modeled) in the existing building. “Draw” each precedent with the same amount of detail as the sections you have already “drawn” (modeled) of the existing Agricultural Heritage Museum.

- The section must show the connection between an existing building and an addition.
- Using your existing file, Save As 190909_Details.
- Draw your section in the same file as the existing Agricultural Heritage Museum section.
- Upload the Revit File in Box as 190909_Details.
- Project the images on Monday 09.09.
WEDNESDAY 09.04_SPACE AND MATERIAL (Due Friday 09.06)
For Friday 09.06 you will “draw” the profile lines for all three (3) sections and add materials. Use the lecture 02_Adding Material for guidance and be sure to check the definitions for error, precision, model line, and detail lines. All three (3) sections will be projected in class on Friday.
